Bespoke Commissions

Something made just for you

There is something incredibly special about commissioning a piece of jewellery.

It means creating exactly what you want - thoughtfully designed, beautifully made, and completely unique to you.

Whether you’re marking a milestone, honouring a memory, proposing to the love of your life, or reimagining a treasured heirloom, a jewellery commission allows your ideas to be brought to life with skill, care and intention.

At Charlotte Mari, every commissioned piece is handmade to order in our studio - designed to be worn, loved and treasured for years to come.

Engagement & Wedding Rings

Designed by me, with you, for you.

Your engagement or wedding ring should feel completely yours.

Charlotte works closely with you to create rings that reflect your story, your style and your budget. You may arrive with clear ideas, inspiration images and stone preferences - or you may simply know how you want it to feel. Either way, Charlotte will guide you through the process with experience and creativity.

We work in platinum, 9ct, 14ct, 18ct and 22ct gold, including white gold, and can source diamonds and gemstones to suit your vision.

Each ring is made with care, sensitivity and craftsmanship - designed for a lifetime of wear.

Cremation & Memorial Jewellery

Ashes Jewellery - Made with care and respect.

Some commissions are deeply personal.

"I can't recommend Charlotte Mari enough if you were looking for memorial jewellery. We were able to design them ourselves and she treated our daughters ashes with such kindness and compassion, and kept us updated every step of the way" - Ellie

Charlotte regularly creates sentimental pieces to honour loved ones, mark meaningful moments, or provide comfort following bereavement - and no two items are the same. We will work together to make sure we create the perfect memorial jewellery, and we have many options available to discuss.

We always work sensitively and respectfully with ashes, incorporating them into jewellery in a way that feels subtle, beautiful and personal.

Ashes can be visible, or hidden behind gem stones or at the back of pendants. We can offer 'Secretly Set' ashes, so only you know that they are there with you - secretly.

These commissions are always handled with understanding and compassion. The process is gentle, thoughtful and entirely centred around you.

Reworked & Remodelled Jewellery

Giving new life to sentimental and treasured pieces.

Family jewellery and inherited pieces often hold emotional value - even if they’re no longer your style.

Remodelling allows you to transform existing jewellery into something you will truly wear and cherish. Whether it’s resetting stones, melting and reworking gold, or redesigning an outdated piece, this process keeps the sentiment while creating something beautifully wearable.

It’s a wonderful way to honour the past while creating something for the present.

How the Commission Process Works

Every commission begins with a conversation.

Because the prices of gold and silver fluctuate regularly, we provide a personalised quote following your consultation.
All quotations are valid for 7 days.

1. Consultation & Design

We discuss your ideas, materials, budget and timeframe.
Charlotte can work from your vision, or present design ideas for you to consider.
Once you approve the design and quotation, your order is confirmed.

2. Deposit

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your commission.
This covers design development, materials and allocated studio time.

3. Making Your Piece

Your jewellery is individually handmade to order.
Estimated completion times are provided at confirmation.
Due to the handmade nature of commissions, slight variations or minor delays may occasionally occur.

4. Final Payment & Collection

The remaining balance is due upon completion, before collection or dispatch.
Payment can be made in-store or by bank transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a commission cost?

Every commission is different. Pricing depends on materials, complexity and current gold or silver prices. After your consultation, you’ll receive a personalised quote, valid for 7 days due to fluctuating metal prices.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

Not at all. Some clients arrive with clear ideas, while others simply know how they want the piece to feel. Charlotte can work from your vision or design and present ideas for you to consider.

What metals do you work with?

We work in 9ct, 14ct, 18ct and 22ct gold, including white gold, as well as sterling silver and platinum. We can also source diamonds and gemstones to suit your design and budget.

How long does a commission take?

Timeframes vary depending on the complexity of the piece and studio workload. Usually up to 8 weeks, however an estimated completion time will be provided when your order is confirmed.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your commission. This covers materials, design development and dedicated studio time.

Can I cancel my commission?

Because commissioned jewellery is bespoke and made to order, it cannot be cancelled once work has begun or materials have been purchased. This is in line with UK consumer law for personalised goods.

Can I remodel my existing jewellery?

Yes - remodelling heirloom or unworn jewellery is something we love to do. Stones can often be reset, and gold can sometimes be melted and reused, creating something new while preserving sentiment.

Do you work with ashes for memorial jewellery?

Yes. Charlotte works sensitively and respectfully with ashes, creating subtle and meaningful memorial pieces. This process is always handled with care and compassion.

Is commissioned jewellery guaranteed?

Yes. Your jewellery is guaranteed to be of satisfactory quality and as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Manufacturing faults reported within 3 months will be repaired free of charge.

Can I keep my commission private?

Of course. As a team we are totally discreet, and will keep our consultation and conversations entirely private (especially if you are planning a surprise proposal) While we may photograph commissioned pieces for portfolio purposes, you can request complete privacy if you do not want your jewellery online or on Social Media.
